Sausage and Cheese Biscuits

Author: Kelly Donlea
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut in cubes
  • 1 – 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, buttermilk, or sour cream (Milk is fine if it’s all you have on hand, but the first 3 options give a better consistency and flavor. It is also ok to use any combination of the 4 dairy ingredients mentioned to equal one and a quarter cup.)
  • 2 cups cooked, crumbled sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper/jack cheese

Mix dry ingredients together. Fold or cut in butter, aggressively, until well blended. Stir in dairy until dough forms. Fold in sausage and cheese. Form dough into individual biscuits, and bake on baking sheet at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes (or when lightly browned).
